Her funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Dusty Stout officiating. Burial will follow the service in Community Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Neil Thompson, Chad Thompson, Tommy Hollingsworth, Joey Michuda, David Evans, and Darrell Evans; honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne Evans, Duhl Evans, Jerry Freeland, Tristan Evans, and Ryan Kyle. Visitation is scheduled on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday after 12:00 P.M. until service time. Betty Jane Evans Thompson was born September 9, 1942 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late George F. Evans and the late Georgia Lurlene Smith Evans. She is survived by her daughter: Tammy (Jerry) Freeland of Paris; sons: Jeff (Roxanne) Thompson of Paris and Joey Thompson of Puryear; brothers: Dwayne (Fay) Evans of Paris an Duhl (Shelly) Evans of Puryear; grandchildren: Megan Hollingsworth, Neil (Katie) Thompson, Chad (Holly) Thompson, Matt Cleaver, and Jimmy Dale Thompson Johnson; great grandchildren: McKray Brown, Bayleigh Thompson, Conner Thompson, Kaylen Thompson, and Braden Thompson; several nieces and nephews, other family members and best friend: Linda Stanley. Besides her parents, Betty is also preceded in death by grandchildren: Chris Archie and Heather Marie Hollingsworth and her special friend: James Thompson. Ms. Thompson worked and retired from Emerson Electric Company. Betty was a Baptist by faith and was a member of the VFW Post 1889.
