Amandio Pereira, 86, passed away on Sunday, March, 17, 2019 at his sons home surrounded by family, He was born in Folgosinho da Serra, Portugal, came to the US in June of 1969, and settled in the Ironbound section of Newark. Amandio was a laborer, for various construction companies in the Newark area from 1969 until 10 years ago when he retired. Beloved husband of the late Lucilia; loving father of Jose Pereira and his wife Anne; cherished grandfather of Kristen and Joseph. He is the last survivor of 7 brothers and sisters. The Funeral Mass for Amandio will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Elizabeth, NJ. Entombment St. Gertrude Chapel Mausoleum, Colonia, NJ. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. The visitation for Amandio will be on Tuesday, March 19th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Buyus Funeral Home at 426 Lafayette Street, Newark, NJ.
