Addie’s Obituary Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Shannon was born on November 27, 1927, in Louisville, Mississippi, to the union of her parents, Felma and Alice Hoskins Haynes. She departed this earthly life on March 2, 2019, at the North Mississippi Medical Center of Tupelo, Mississippi. At an early age, Sister Addie B. Shannon professed her hope in Jesus Christ at White Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she remained active and faithful servant until her health began to fail. She once served with the Heroines of Jericho. She was a retired employee of the Shannon Elementary School where she enjoyed sharing her skills in cooking and serving in the cafeteria. She had a passion for cooking and feeding her family full course meals, and enjoyed washing and ironing clothing every day not only for herself but also for her family. She enjoyed spending quality time and traveling whenever she could with her friends or family. Addie B. Hoskins was united in marriage to William Shannon, who preceded her in death. There were no children born to the union. Addie B.’s kindness and her loving memories will be cherished by: her brother, R.V. Haynes of Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Carrie (John) Williams of Tupelo, MS, Suzy Crayton of New York, NY; three grandchildren, Johnnie Robinson, Jr., of Tupelo, MS, Teffanie Green of Belden, MS, and Addie Brown of Indianapolis, IN; her son-in-law, Johnnie Robinson, Sr., of Tupelo, MS; two of her special and devoted friends, Zeolo Meadows and Irma Mae Vance both of Tupelo, MS; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves a host of other relatives, niece, nephews and a community of friends and loved ones. Addie B. Shannon was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers; Willie B, Hoskins, Curly Triplett, Curtis Triplett, and John Hoskins; one sister, Annie Peart Jamison; and three children that she reared as her very own, Sonny Thornton, Shaw Thornton, and Betty J.
