OBITUARY Winford Lee Paschall Passed away on September 21, 2018 Windford Lee Paschall, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the age of 73. He was born in Austin to William Daulton and Lela Allene Paschall on January 15, 1945. He lived in Austin, Richardson and Arlington, TX. Winford loved to hunt and fish and was an accomplished archer. He won several awards for archery in his youth and continued to enjoy the sport throughout his life. His true passion, however was ballroom dancing with the love of his life, Martha. He had an endless collection of jokes which he loved to share with anyone who would listen. His joy was making people laugh. He often said “Always laugh when you can…it’s cheaper medicine”. He and Martha also loved to travel doing genealogy research both sides of the family. One of Winford’s bucket list achievements, that was an enjoyment and thrill, was his hike of the Grand Canyon with his son, Dwayne; daughter, Roxanne and nephew Richard. Winford graduated from William B. Travis High School in Austin and Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor and Master Degree in Business Administration. He received his CPA certificate in 1969. Winford was a CPA from May, 1969 to 2015 when he retired. He concluded his career after working for Thomson Reuters for 25 years. His career began at the Harlandale ISD as auditor followed by positions with Lyda, Boyd, Starr & Wilson CPA firm; Texas State Auditors office; Alexander Grant CPA firm, Peat Marwick Mitchell (KPMG) CPA firm and Tracor, Inc. Internal Audit Director. Winford had many career achievements. He served on the Editorial Board for the Texas Accountants magazine. He held board and officer positions for the Austin, Dallas and Ft. Worth CPA Chapters. He served on the professional staff of Texas Tech University Southwest School of Governmental Finance and taught government accounting at UTA. Winford was the author and co-author of numerous accounting books and articles. He also enjoyed teaching CPE courses for Thomson Reuters. Winford is survived by his wife Martha Downey Paschall, who he married in 1966 and was the love of his life. A son, Dr. Darwin Dwayne Paschall and wife Whitney; daughter Roxanne Chanae Paschall Uras and husband Lorenzo Uras; three granddaughters, Abby Claire Paschall, Molly Christine Paschall, and Chloe Isabella Uras; brother Max Edwin Paschall, many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews. He loved them all dearly. He was a member of Lamar Baptist Church in Arlington. Memorial contributions in Winford’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org/site/Donation2?df_id=32112&32112.donation=form1) or Brookdale Hospice, 4025 Woodland Park Blvd., Arlington, TX 76013. A visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Lamar Baptist Church on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with a committal service held at Cook-Walden/Capital Park Cemetery, in Pflugerville, the following day, Friday, September 28, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. Send Flowers Show Your Support Share Obituary share to facebook share by email share link Receive Notifications
