Phillip Dean Criswell 1959 2018

Obituary of Phillip Criswell Phillip (Phil) D. Criswell (59) passed away at his home in Crestview Hills, Ky. on August 30, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Margaret (McCollough) Criswell; his brother Earl “Ken”; and his sisters, Sue Criswell and Latricia “Trish” Bishop. Phil is survived by his three sons: Sean (Gina) and their four children; Ryan (Christy) and their two children; and Travis (Lyndsay) and their soon-to-be three children. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Deborah Struve, and her son, Adam. Phil ran a diesel service business with Adam in Greater Cincinnati. He held multiple certifications in a variety of fields, and he was truly a man who knew something about everything. Phil enjoyed debating politics and discussing American history, specifically the Civil War. He was also an avid reader, book collector, and traveler. He loved biking and hiking in Lexington with Debbie; exploring new towns, and was a self-proclaimed amateur “foodie”. An accomplished guitarist, Phil was known for getting so lost in the music that he would start composing his own music mid-song, even when playing with others. More than that, though, Phil loved playing guitar with his three sons. Not only did he teach them each to play guitar, one of his greatest joys in life was when they could all get together and play. He never missed an opportunity to talk about how proud he was of the men they grew up to be. At Phil’s request, his family is planning a memorial and celebration of his life in place of a funeral. The date and location are to be determined, and will be shared as soon as the arrangements are finalized.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Phillip Dean Criswell 1959 2018.
