Delfina “Chefa” Godoy, 95 Youngstown…Private family services were held Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, with Fr. Kevin Peters officiating for, Delfina “Chefa” Godoy, 95, who passed away Sunday evening in the Hospice House. Delfina was born Aug. 3, 1923 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Eleuterio Maldonado and Maria Andrea Martinez. She was a member of St. Angela Merici Parish and Jovenes Del Pasado (The Youth of the Past). She retired from St. Elizabeth Health Center Housekeeping Department in the 1980’s. Delfina loved trips to the casino and most of all loved her family. Her husband, Jose Nicholas Godoy whom she married Sept. 11, 1948 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, passed away June 16, 1965. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Fermin Maldonado of Puerto Rico, Dennis (Carmen) Godoy and Ivan (Candida) Godoy both of Campbell; her daughters, Carmen Daisy (Edward) Wilcox of California and Miriam Sigurani of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jose; a son, Efrain Godoy; granddaughter, Marisol Godoy; her grandson, Frank Godoy; as well as her four brothers; and two sisters. The Godoy family has entrusted the care of their loved one to the Wasko Funeral Home.
