Obituary for Gerard Fontaine Committal services with full military honors for SSG Gerard S Fontaine will be held at Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery in Colchester Vermont (across from Camp Johnson),on Saturday June 16th at 12:30. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Winooski/Zephyrhills, FL – Gerard S Fontaine passed away December 21, 2017 at the age of 77 at Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills Florida. Jerry was born in Granby, Canada on March 26,1940 the son of Louis and Mercedes(Viens) Fontaine. He graduated from Cambridge High. He served in the US Army and VT Army National Guard retiring in 1992. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He also worked at Pizzagalli Construction Co, Health Ins of VT, Banknorth & LESC Homeland Security. Jerry was proud to be a member of the Knights of Columbus & American Legion in VT and in FL. On October 19,1968 he married Cecile (Fregeau) Fontaine. Together they had two beautiful children Janel & Alain. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Cecile; daughter Janel (Steve) Crowley; son Alain (Tiffeny) Fontaine; brother Norman (Thelma) Fontaine; sisters in Law Peggy & Rose Fontaine. Grandchildren Victoria & Ryan Crowley; AJ & Elisabeth Fontaine along with many nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Andre, Raymond; sisters Denise and Rejeanne; borthers & sister In -laws Claude, George and Donna. Visiting hours will be Jan 2, 2018 4-6 at LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Winooski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Jan 3, 2018 at noon at St Francis Xavier Church in Winooski.
