Obituary for Phyllis Elaine Teague Phyllis Elaine Reid Teague, age 70, of Taylorsville left this world for her heavenly home on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Catawba Regional Hospice. She was born on August 5, 1947, the daughter of the late Lester Reid, Jr. and Angeline Estelle Pennell Reid. During her career she worked as a leather marker for Hancock & Moore. Phyllis attended Huntington Hills Church of God. For more than 45 years she was the church organist for Bethlehem Church of God and loved to sing for her Lord. Phyllis also enjoyed crocheting making numerous gifts for her church family and mission trips. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family and church family. Phyllis is a special jewel that will always be cherished in our hearts as a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Hubert Carroll Teague. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Tamalita Smith & husband Jeff and LaShawn Smith & husband Brian both of Taylorsville; grandchildren Chris Smith of Japan; Brittany Smith Arms, Elias Smith, & Austin Smith all of Taylorsville; and Sidney Smith Givens of Crestview, FL; three great-grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth Icenhour and Brenda Bolick & husband Bill both of Taylorsville; a number of nieces and nephews; along with several close friends and best friend Karen Costabile of Fountain Hills, AZ. The family will receive friend on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Huntington Hills Church of God in Hickory. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Harvey Turner and Rev. Howard Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Church of God. Serving as Pallbearers will be her nephews and great-nephews.
