Obituary for Mary Jean Yarian Mary Jean Yarian, 93, Wakarusa, died 3:23 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018 at Franciscan Hospice House, Indianapolis. She was born May 11, 1925 in Wakarusa to Roy & Golda (Null) Kehr. She married Robert G. Yarian on July 15, 1945 and he died June 7, 1978. Surviving are a daughter, Susan (Robert) Young, Dallas, Georgia, grandchildren, Erin (Nick Johnson) Lehman, Marietta, Georgia, Nathan (Alessa Quiñones) Lehman, Indianapolis and a brother, Robert Kehr, Wakarusa. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband and three siblings. Mary Jean was head teller at the bank in downtown Wakarusa. She was a member of the Wakarusa United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed Bible Study. Mary Jean was a part of the Business Women’s Association, bowled on the women’s league in Wakarusa and volunteered at Elkhart General Hospital for 15 years. She enjoyed doing yard work at her home and lake cottage. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 and 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018, with the service following at 3 p.m. on Sunday, all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Pastor Ed Geleske will officiate. Burial will follow at Olive (West) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Wakarusa United Methodist Church.
