Gene Marie Hogle December 29, 1931 – July 20, 2018 Gene Marie Hogle, 86, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2:09 pm in Franciscan Health – Michigan City, Michigan City, IN. There will be no services. Burial took place in Greenwood Cemetery. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements. Gene was born to Martin and Mary Carr in Lafayette, Indiana on December 29, 1931. She completed her nursing degree at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. There she met the love of her life, Frank Hogle, who died in 1982. After her nursing career, Gene taught English at Purdue North Central. Her interests included animals, gardening, antiques and playing bridge. Gene leaves behind friends, especially her devoted friend, Sue Caddo. Contributions may be made to Michiana Humane Society, 722 Indiana Hwy 212, Michigan City, IN 46360.
