Obituary for Elli F. Henderson Elli F. Henderson, age 92 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, June 10, 2018, at her residence in Highland, IL. She was born on Wednesday, September 23, 1925, in Gulzow, Germany, the daughter of Erich and Amanda (nee Wege) Voigt. She was a member of the VFW Post 5694 Auxiliary (Life Member), Highland, IL; Disabled American Veterans, Cross City, Florida. Elli was born at Gulzow, Germany; grew up there. She moved with her parents to Polish Corudon Centil “People push back in 1945”. She lived in Gersfeld, Germany and attended nursing school in Stolp, Germany. Elli came to United States in August of 1949. She became an U.S. Citizen in Spring of 1973. She lived at Ft. Benning, GA; Battle Creek, MI; Colorado Springs, CO; Rogers City, MI; Canadian, Texas; Marine, IL in 1966. She move to Florida and returned to Pocahontas in 2007 and moved to Faith Countryside in February of 2011. She worked as a nurse in a small hospitals, wherever she lived. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, knitting and playing Bingo. She was very active with the VFW Post 5694 in Highland. Survivors include: Son – Thomas R. Tulgetske (Married 1/20/1949; Died 7/16/1982) 2nd Husband – John Hall (Married 1983 – Died 1991) 3rd Husband – Louis Henderson (Married 1993 – Died 2005) Brother – Horst Voigt – Died 2017 Sister – Annelise Voigt. Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL. There will be no services. Burial will be at a later date. Interment will be at Reno Bethel Cemetery in Reno , IL. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or American Cancer Society.
