Obituary for SARA JEAN SALTER JENNINGS Sara Jean Salter Jennings, 95, of Hueytown, passed away May 31, 2018. Sara was a lifelong member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, the WMU, and the Hueytown Garden Club. She is preceded in death by her husband Wallace Eugene Jennings, Sr.; and brothers James Benton Salter and Herbert T. Salter, Jr.; and sister Erma Louise Salter Lawson. She is survived by her daughters Sara Bearden (Lee), Mary Jennings, and Emily Douglass (Allen); son Gene Jennings, Jr (Nancy); grandchildren Katie Jennings Campbell (Jason), Dan Jennings (Amanda), Nick Bearden (Lindsey), and Alex Waldrop (Marissa); great grandchildren Brianna McFerrin, Tillman Campbell, Lila Jean Campbell; and many nieces, nephews, and other loved family and friends. The visitation will be Saturday, June 2, 2018, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Collins officiating. A private burial will follow Highland Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to express their thanks and graditude to the nurses and staff at Self Nursing Home, for their loving care given to Mrs. Jennings. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
