Carroll F. Slider 82 of Parkersburg passed away May 29, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Calhoun Co. WV. the son of the late James Paul and Thelma C. Sturm Slider. He was a 1954 graduate of Calhoun High School and served in the U.S. Army. He had worked for many years as a mechanic for E. I. DuPont. He was at one time a member of the Masonic Lodge and was an active member of the Fairlawn Baptist Church. He loved and owned several antique cars over the years and was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed building model cars. He loved his family and his church family and always enjoyed the church trips and going with his motorhome to the beach. He is survived by his sister, Norma Cottrell (William) of Belpre, OH. His sisters in law, Barbara Busch of Lubeck, WV. and Martha Busch of Belpre, OH. His niece and nephews, Serina Jones (Carl) of Parkersburg, Kevin Busch of Lubeck, Dr. Gregg Busch (Mary Beth) of Tuscon, AZ. and Shawn Busch (Tara) of Parkersburg. His great nieces and nephews, Michaelyn Busch, Mace Busch, Kevin Busch, Jeremy Busch, Nicholas Busch, Emily Busch and Stephen Maher. His special friends, Juanita Lemon and Gail “Peanut” Uldrich. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leah Kathryn “Katie” Busch Slider; His mother and father in law, R.M. and Teresa Busch and his brother in laws, Glenn Busch and Don Busch. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00am at the Fairlawn Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Spade officiating. Entombment will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Fairlawn Baptist Church and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Fairlawn Baptist Church for The Debt Retirement Fund.
