Normand A Galipeau 2018

Normand A. Galipeau, 80, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Constance M “Connie” (Rattie) Galipeau, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Woonsocket, RI he was a son of the late Roland and Beatrice (Aubin) Galipeau. Normand honorably served in the United States Air Force. After his military service he was employed as a serviceman at Uniroyal, Inc. at the Woonsocket plant, for 10 years. Followed by employment at General Motors, Framingham, MA as an assembler for 20 years. Normand enjoyed watching sporting activities, playing cards with friends, and an occasional Friday night out with the guys at the dog track. He cherished spending time with his family. Normand will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his outgoing personality. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Donna M. Chartier (Andrew) of Spokane, WA, Debra A. Staples of Bellingham, MA, Dawn D. Poirier (Marc) of Chepachet and Michael N. Galipeau (Heather) of North Smithfield. He was the brother of Robert and Richard Galipeau, Linda Breadmore and the late Gloria Lewis and Paul Galipeau. He was the grandfather of Amanda Runkle, Steven Chartier, Brittany and Kayla Staples and Zachary Poirier; great-grandfather of Ella and Emilianne. His funeral will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 8:15am from the Tucker-Quinn Funeral Home, 643 Putnam Pike (Rt.44) Greenville, RI, with a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church, Woonsocket, RI. Burial with military honors will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 4-7pm.
