Mildred Ann Millie Flaker 1938 2018

Obituary of Mildred Ann Flaker Mildred Ann Flaker, “Millie”, age 79 of New Hampshire, died Saturday, May 19, 2018. Born in Hackensack, the daughter of Henry and Anna May Flaker, Millie grew up in Midland Park and had resided in Wyckoff before moving to Warren, New Hampshire in 2012. Millie was a 1956 graduate of Pompton Lakes High School, where she met her first love, William “Bill” Laauwe. Millie and Bill had one daughter, Darlene Laauwe. In 1968, Millie remarried, William Flaker, celebrating 25 years of marriage before Bill passed away in 1994. Prior to her retirement, Millie was a Weaver for F.G. Montabert Co. in Midland Park, NJ. She was a former member of Midland Park United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Wyckoff Fire Department Company #2 Ladies Auxiliary. Millie is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Ron Gilmore and her granddaughter, Kelly Ann Gilmore all of Warren, NH. Millie loved sports, including, baseball, football, ice skating, bowling, tennis. Millie also loved to play cards with her granddaughter, Kelly. Throughout the years, Millie enjoyed playing tennis with many of her friends, who also enjoyed bowling together on several leagues. She loved watching old television shows and enjoyed her mysteries. Millie’s heart was broken when her faithful companion, Kipper, her first Sheltie, died on May 1st. Visiting Friday 5-7 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Service, Saturday 10:30 am at the Funeral Home followed by the interment in George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus. In lieu of flowers donations to Wyckoff Fire Dept. Company # 2, P.O. Box 405, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
