Obituary of Melvin Downey Melvin Downey,66, passed away Sunday May 27,2018 at St Elizabeth Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents- Margaret Agnew, Roscoe Downey, his son Melvin Downey Jr, and his grandson Brayden Hoffman. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Susan Downey, his 2 children – Angela Thompson (Phillip), Gina Hoffman (Sam), 4 grandchildren – Matthew Thompson (Jessica), Benjamin Thompson, Abbey Hoffman, Carter Hoffman,1 great Grandchild – Kielee Thompson and many more beloved family members and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday May 31,2018 from 5-8 pm at Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere . Funeral service will be Friday June1,2018 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Independence Cemetery, Independence.
