Mr. James Edward “Jamie” Champion, Jr., 73, of Marion, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Crittenden Health Systems in Marion, KY. Mr. Champion was a farmer and a veteran, having served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Susan DeWitt-Champion; sons, Steve Champion (Eugena) and Scott Champion, both of Salem, KY; step-son, Ben Dyer, IV (Amy) of Hempstead, TX; step-daughters, Stephanie Hainsworth (Beau) of Kuttawa,… Read More » KY, and Angela Meadows (Steve) of Henderson, KY; brother, Kenneth Champion (Pam) of Marion, KY; mother, Katherine Champion of Marion, KY; grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Champion of Marion, KY, Lane and Trent Champion of Salem, KY; step-grandchildren, Jordan Martin of Sturgis, SD, Nicolas Greenwell of Waverly, KY, Jacob Greenwell of Kuttawa, KY, Shelby Dyer of Rapid City, SD, Sara Beth Meadows of Henderson, KY, Benjamin Wright Dyer, V of Hampstead, TX, and Mason Dyer of Hempstead, TX; and great grandchildren, Ryder Greenwell and Clayton Hobson both of Henderson, KY. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Champion, Sr. Funeral services will be at 3 PM, Saturday, May 26, 2018, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 AM until the funeral hour, Saturday, May 26, 2018, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors and Cremation Service in Salem.
