Mr. James Dennis Banton, age 75 of Guthrie, passed away on Monday, May 7th in Guthrie, Kentucky. He was born January 12, 1943 in Guthrie, Kentucky the son of the late Pete and Mable Lee Weakley Banton. He served in the United States Airforce and was a certified electrician. His passion was raising game roosters, drag racing and skeet shooting. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one son Denny “Bubba” Banton (Tracie) of Guthrie; one daughter Brooke Banton Tigart (Shannon) of Clarksville; one sister Patricia James of Athens, Alabama; six grandchildren Denny Wayne, Charlsie, Chesnie, Toni, Alexandria and Stevee and one great grandson Harper Stokes. Visitation with the Banton family will be on Thursday from 5:00 until funeral service time at 7:00 at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home with Shane Hessey officiating. Burial will be on Friday at 5:00 at the Highland Cemetery.
