J. Charlotte Devilbiss, 69, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Contributions in her memory may be made to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue No-Kill Shelter in Davenport. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements. She was born October 22, 1948 in Davenport, the daughter of William E. and Alice Mary (Wright) Meier. She attended Scott Community College, the University of Iowa and graduated from Marycrest College in Davenport. Prior to her retirement, Char was employed at the Business Manager of the office of the former St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Danny; her daughters, Mary (Stephen) Wadle of Beloit, Wisconsin and Suzy (Barrett) Thies of Gaithersburg, Maryland; her sons, William Huntsberger of Davenport, James (Kara) Huntsberger of Durant, Iowa and Jeffry Huntsberger of Los Angeles, California; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Nicholas, Sophie, Liam, Vivienne, Kaden and Morgan; and her sister, Sue Myers of Lenexa, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jon Meier and by her parents.
