Earl Thomason, 95, of Bluford, Illinois passed away at 3:00 P.M. May 27, 2018 at his residence in Bluford, Illinois. He was born April 24, 1923 in Wamac, Illinois to Roy A. and Rosetta Chloe (Boswell) Thomason. He married Rosemary Miller in Bluford, Illinois on November 19, 1947 and she preceded him in death on December19, 2010. Earl is survived by his son, Michael Thomason and wife Cindy of Glasgow, Kentucky; granddaughter, Tiffany Thomason of Winchester, Kentucky; great-granddaughter, Carlee Dale Curtis of Glasgow, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Thomason was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson, Craig Thomason; sister, Vada Rhoton; brother, Norman Thomason; brother-in-law, Kenneth Rhoton; and sister-in-law, Norma Thomason. Earl humbly and honorably served our country in the Army during World War II and in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Illinois Central Railroad as a switchman for 42 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bluford, Illinois. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Bluford, Illinois and the Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 A.M. with Brother Michael Thomason and Pastor Robert House III officiating. Interment will take place at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, Illinois. Members of the American Legion Post #141 will conduct Full Military Honors at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bluford.
