Obituary of Gerald Crump Gerald “Gabby” J. Crump, 88 formerly of Dexter passed away April 16 at the Hospice House, Watertown, NY. Gabby was born May 20, 1929 in Theresa, NY son of Chereie and Leota Crump. He attended Dexter High where he played baseball and 8 Man football and basketball for Dutch Grant. He was raised on Fish Island in Dexter. Gabby married Shirley Atkinson from Harrisville at the Harrisville Methodist Church on September 16, 1951. They lived in Watertown/ Dexter/ Harrisville/ Charlotte, NC during their married life. Gabby retired from Black Clawson with 40 years. He was a member of Dexter Fire Department and Eagles Club. He bowled on the Fire Department team for a number of years. He had the best time going to Boonville Bowling Tournaments every year in May; where they stayed in Camp Lee hunting camp. Later years they stopped bowling but still went to camp every May with the team and other lucky folks. They enjoyed traveling with friends, watching grandchildren play sports and he also like watching baseball and basketball on TV. He is survived by 3 sons: Jerry and Lisa (Harmon) Crump from Huntersville, NC, Douglas and Lisa (Chapman) Crump of Sandy Creek, Tod and Terri (Phillips) Crump of Harrisville. Five grandchildren: Brent, Chelsea, Emily, Thomas, Gabrielle, Timothy. Two great grandchildren: Parker and Coleman. Many nieces and nephews. Gabby is predeceased by his wife Shirley 2015, granddaughter Tricia 1981, a brother Eugene and a sister Evelyn and twin sister Geraldine. At his request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Saturday April 21st at 11:00 am at Sanford Corners Cemetery, Calcium.
