Obituary for William E. Johnson
William E. “Bill” Johnson, 75, passed away April 2, 2018 at his home in Carthage. Bill was born February 24, 1943 in Carthage to Cecil & Rose Johnson.
Bill was raised in Carthage and moved to the Bay Area in California at a young age. In California, he owned and operated Johnson Trucking. Upon selling the business, he returned to Carthage in 1979. Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.
Bill was united in marriage to Evelyn Pagliaro on August 22, 1970 in Reno, NV; she preceded him in death August 23, 2007.
Bill is survived by his son, Billy Johnson (Cherie) of Carthage; two daughters, Chris McWilliams (Ken) of Carthage and Rita Robinson (John) of Reno, NV; eight grandchildren, Shanon Doss (Kyle), Sheila Yarick (Yancey), Shane Johnson (Chelsea), Sean Johnson, Diana Robinson, Robby Robinson, Billy Scarborough and Lori Moore (Jerry); and seven great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by three brothers, Sonny, Jim and Bob Johnson; three sisters, Barbara Howerton, Jackie Johnson and Kathy Watters.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Park Cemetery.
