Obituary for Wilma J. Frank
Wilma J. Frank, 80, of Canton, Kansas, passed away at 2:58 a.m., Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 peacefully, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas.
Wilma was born in Raymond, Kansas on December 24, 1937, a daughter of Laura LaRose (Steinman) and Luther Tod Hager.
Wilma attended Pleasant View Elementary School and Rice County Public School, both of Lyons, Kansas.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Canton, Kansas.
Through the years Wilma was a homemaker and took great pride in providing for her family in this manner; later Wilma worked at K-Mart as a personal manager, McPherson, Kansas; Shiloh Manor as a housekeeper and CNA, Canton, Kansas.
Wilma was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 24; McPherson, Kansas.
Wilma enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, her canine companion Cricket and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wilma J. Hager was united in marriage to Loren Sylvester Frank on October 18, 1957 in Great Bend, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Ellinwood, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, two sons and one daughter, Dianne, Larry and Victor.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Frank and her husband Leonard, of Hutchinson, Kansas; Victor Frank, of Canton, Kansas; her sisters Marlene Flasheon, of Moundridge, Kansas and JoAnn Williams, of Salina, Kansas; her grandchildren – Jared Phillis, Amber Phillis, Dustin Frank, Austin Frank, Layla Frank and Casi Landrum; her great-grandchildren – Cash Landrum and Caiman Ricks
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Loren Frank; her son Larry Frank; her brother Johnny Hager and her sister Betty Lou
Friends are invited to call Friday 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.. at Glidden – Ediger Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 with Pastor Brent Horne officiating.
The burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Canton, Kansas. Members of the American Legion Post 24 Auxiliary will present member services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society and they can be sent in care of the Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid St.; McPherson, Kansas 67460..
