Lenore G. Payne, 89 of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon. Lenore was born on April 11, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri; the daughter of the late Martin and Margaret (Weiss) Marx. Lenore was a homemaker, mom and wife who enjoyed her days singing and music. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville and was well known for her gardening and interior plant business. Her greatest joy her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lenore is survived by and will be missed by her children; Glenda (Don) Klingsick of Edwardsville, Illinois, Hal (Diane) Payne of Tigard, Oregon, Gary (Melanie) Payne of Chino Hills, California, Kimberley Payne of Glen Carbon, Illinois; grandchildren, Timothy Klingsick, Donald Paul (Lisbeth) Klingsick, Scott (Norma) Klingsick, Gwyneth (Steve) Brown, Gregory (Alli) Payne, Gabriel (Natasha) Payne, Andrea Fradenburg, Garth Payne, Kelsey (Russ) Weber, Gavin (Nicole) Payne; 17 great-grandchildren; special caregiver, Debbie Fredrick of Collinsville, Illinois.
In addition to her parents, Lenora was preceded in death by her husband; Harold W. Payne, whom she married on August 1, 1947; grandson; David Klingsick; 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
In celebration of Lenore’s life, visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor John Shank officiating at Trinity Lutheran Church, 600 Water Street, Edwardsville, Illinois. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorial donations are suggested the Special Olympics, Meridian Village or Trinity Lutheran Church. Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon is serving the family.
