Janice Marshall of Smyrna passed away on April 24th at the age of 84. A graduate of Music Education from West Chester University in Pennsylvania, she was a committed piano teacher, singer, composer, and organist for over 60 years. Churches served included First United Methodist of Smyrna, Cumberland United Methodist, Bethany United Methodist, and more recently, Log Cabin Community Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Donald F. Marshall, and survived by 5 children, Kurt Marshall, Robert Marshall, Richard Marshall, Dr. Scott Marshall, and Dr. Barbara Marshall Williford, one sister, Carol Busby, as well as 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, two nieces and one nephew. The family will receive visitors at Carmichael Funeral Home, 2950 King Street, Smyrna, on Friday, April 27th between 6 and 8 pm, followed by services on Saturday, April 28th at 1 pm, Bethany United Methodist Church, 760 Hurt Rd SW, Smyrna. There will be a private burial immediately following the services at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 760 Hurt Rd., Smyrna, GA 30082.
