William Darold (Mac) McDonald, Jr., 54, of Shreveport, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2018, peacefully in his residence in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mac was a great son, brother, uncle, and friend. He grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and later lived in locations such as Texas, Nevada and Utah. Mac was a musician, screenwriter, sculptor, painter, scenic and character designer, costume designer, inventor, and aspiring author of children’s books with more than 25 years of accomplishment in the entertainment industry spanning film, theater, television, and other mediums. His work included credits for many original concepts including his television works “Cat’s Night Off” and “Ocean Oliver”. His most recent work included designing scenes and costumes for the Salt Lake City Opera. Mac’s sense of humor was contagious. He was always having fun, making jokes, and loved to make his family and friends laugh. His optimism for his work and where it would take him next was always positive. He was always looking forward to the next creative idea and his determination to bring his ideas to fruition was unmatched. Mac truly loved being with people and sharing ideas. Most of all, he loved his family and strived to give guidance to them and pass on his knowledge and experience, especially to his niece and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mom, Joetta Marie McDonald, grandparents: Rufus and Lillian Charrier, June and Harris McDonald. His aunt Patsy Barnes and uncle Paul Daniel Charrier. Mac is survived by his dad, William D McDonald, Sr. (Tatiana Mokeeva), his sisters, Rene Franciotti (Kevin) and Theresa McDonald, and his brother, Jonathan Paul McDonald, Sr. (Katy).
