MARGARET MARIE McDERMOTT 2018

Margaret M. “Peg” (nee Dougherty) McDermott a long time resident of Bryn Mawr, Pa passed away Wednesday March 28, 2018 in Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Born August 11, 1925 in Kennaghen, Artigarvan, Strabane, County Tyrone, Ireland to Helen Crossan and William J. Dougherty. She emigrated to the United States in 1926. She grew up in West Philadelphia and Rosemont, Pa. Peg graduated from West Catholic High High School for Girls, class of 1943.
On April 26, 1947 She married Joseph Thomas McDermott. They made their home in Bryn Mawr, Pa., where they raised their four children.
Peg loved to crochet and was well known for Irish Afghans, she also baked delicious Irish Scones. She and was an avid BINGO player.
Peg was predeceased by her husband, Joseph T. McDermott in 2004. She is the mother of Joseph “Mickey”, Michael (Maureen), Nancy Marie Wallace (Edward), and the late Eileen Newell, grandmother of Joseph, Marie, Michael, Kimberly, Michael, Patrick, Megan, Brian, Kelly Marie, Edward, and Kevan, great grandmother of Jordan, Logan, Owen, Hazel, Brianna, Mary Elizabeth, and Michael. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM Wednesday, April 4, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, Bryn Mawr, Pa. Interment is in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, 31 Pennswood Rd, Bryn Mawr, Pa. 19010.
