Eileen Adams, 79, of Salinas, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2018 surrounded by family by her side. Eileen has been a resident of Toro Park for 37 years.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bruce P. Adams. She is also survived by her children Pam, Bruce, and Cheryl, along with 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Melvin Ross of Santa Maria, her daughter Karen Adams of Salinas, and her brother Fred Ross of Santa Maria.
Eileen, along with her husband Bruce, founded the Toro Park Softball league in 1984. They were both dedicated to providing girls the opportunity to excel in the game of softball along with providing a tight knit community of softball families. Earlier in life she was a dedicated Girls Scout Leader for her 3 daughters. She led her Girls Scouts on many camping trips, teaching the girls how to put up their own shelters, survival skills, along with teaching them how to be a community of caring citizens. She was also a dedicated Sunday School teacher in Santa Maria along with being a Den Mother for her son’s Boy Scout Troop. She always had a strong heart for teaching and caring for children. She also loved baseball and was always willing to be team mom and scorekeeper for most of her kids’ games. More recently, Eileen was dedicated to the causes of Relay for life, and supporting Ovarian Cancer Research in honor of her late daughter Karen. As a result of all of these activities, she touched so many lives in a positive way. Kids that she worked with to this day speak of how much fun they had and all they learned from her. She leaves quite a legacy of caring, loving and teaching.

Burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott Street, Salinas, CA. 93901.
