Frieda Fay Manion (nee Skibinski)
Age 91, went to join her Savior and Lord on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was born in Oakdale, IL on January 6, 1932, daughter of Maude and James Skibinski.
On August 31, 1951 she married Bobby Gene Manion who went ahead of her on March 8, 2004.
She is survived by her five children, Connie Holt, Bobby Manion, David (Patti) Manion, Kenneth Manion, John (Dawn) Manion; Nine grandchildren, Mark (Sandra) Holt, Aaron Holt, Joshua Manion, Randy (Brii) Manion, Richard Manion, Trisha (Michael) Wagner, Raymond Manion, Tia Manion and Charles Manion. Eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also mourn her passing. Also surviving, her sister, Sherry (David) Redmond and brother, James Skibinski as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Those who went ahead of her were her husband, Bobby Gene Manion; her parents, Maude and James Skibinski; one grandson, James Holt; one brother, Philip Skibinski and two sisters, Marjorie Garascia and Mary Street.
Frieda was active in her church as historian. She belonged to the Ruth Circle and worked the Thrift Shop. She was a collector of chicken figurines throughout the year and at Christmas she exchanged that display for the 300+ Nativity Sets she had collected.
Frieda loved to bake and make homemade English Toffee during the holidays season which she loved to share with family, friends and neighbors.
Frieda retired from Jemco Engineering in Minooka, IL after 30 years of service.
Visitation for Frieda Fay Manion will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM until Funeral Service begins at 2:00 PM at United Methodist Church in Channahon located at 24751 W. Eames Street.
