Jacqueline L. Allington, age 86, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Elcor Nursing Home in Horseheads, NY. She graduated from Corning Northside High School in the Class of 1957 and was employed by Corning Glass Works starting out in the Mail Room and retired as an Administrative Assistant from Corning Incorporated Communications Department in 1992. She had 65 service and retirement years. In her younger years Jackie loved to play softball, ski, golf, and travel. She was always the life of the party and had a great sense of humor. She was born on January 12, 1937 in Corning, NY to Lorey James and Editha Gee Allington. She was the last survivor of nine children. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Barbara and Patsy Allington at young ages, Betty (Harry) Robenolt, Mary Lou Hunter, and Eleanor Cole, brothers: James, Thomas, and Donald Allington. She is survived by her brothers-in-law, Milford Hunter of Inverness, FL, and Frank Cole of Wellsville, NY, sisters-in-law, Hilda Allington of Corning, NY, Janet Allington of Black River, NY, many nieces, nephews, cousins, good friend, Pat Williams of Rocky Mount, NC, and a special niece and friend, Brenda Hunter Cavallaro of the Villages, FL. A family gathering will be held at the family plot in Niles Valley Cemetery in Pennsylvania at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Carpenter’s Funeral Home
