Virgil Nold, 97 of Oconee, Illinois died Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 1:10 AM at Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana, Illinois. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oconee, Illinois with Fr. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Visitation will also be Thursday, March 24, 2022 in Oconee Sacred Heart Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Oconee Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may be made for masses said at Oconee Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Virgil Nold was born Saturday, January 17, 1925 in Montrose, Missouri the son of Albert and Leona (maiden name Schmitz) Nold. He attended school in Oconee and Pana Township High School. Virgil was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. He was a lifelong farmer in the Oconee area. Memberships included Oconee Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Oconee American Legion. Virgil Nold is survived by Brother: Harold Nold of Oconee; Sister: Jeanette Moore of Niantic, Illinois; Nephews: Ron Bednarko of Athens, Illinois and Bob Moore of Niantic, Illinois.
