Obituary Please share a memory of Ted to include in a keepsake book for family and friends. View Tribute Book Ted Lee Setzer, 86, of Hickory, passed away December 5, 2022 at Trinity Village. Born May 1, 1936 in Catawba Co., he was the son of the late Ray Setzer and Pauline Teague Setzer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda S. Everhart and nephew, Danny Everhart. Ted attended Hickory High School and retired from King Hickory Furniture Co., after being in furniture his entire life. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church for 74 years where he served as a deacon and numerous committees. Ted was a big sports fan. He coached Highland Baptist Church Men’s softball team for many years, bringing home State Tournament wins and several trips to National Tournaments. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Faye Walker Setzer of the home; son Todd L. Setzer and wife Christel; granddaughter, Kendall Setzer; brother, Jerry Setzer and wife Judy of Lugoff, SC; and brother-in-law, James Everhart of Hickory. Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church, 828 9th Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601. There will be no service at this time. Bass-Smith Funeral Home is serving the Setzer family.
