Obituary Please share a memory of Ted to include in a keepsake book for family and friends. View Tribute Book Theodore “Ted” Kutz passed away October 18, 2022. He was born September 23, 1953 in Adak, Alaska to LaVerne and Patricia Kutz who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Margaret, a sister-in-law, Linda Kutz, brothers-in-law, Gary Samuel, Paul Gournoe, and Dale Wimmer. Growing up as a Navy brat, Ted lived on many military bases until his dad retired and moved the family to Strafford, Missouri where Ted graduated. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He had wonderful memories of growing up in different places. He enjoyed experiencing many cultures, getting to visit European castles, camping on the Rhine, munching on flatbread in Turkey and hearing their call to prayer. Those were just a few of his favorites. Besides traveling with family, he also got to go on Boy Scout expeditions to Italy and other countries. He was happiest fishing, repairing broken things and driving OTR. Ted and his wife were an owner / operator team. He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth, a son, Kevin and his wife Laine, and granddaughter, Hailey; his step-mother, Imogene Kutz; a brother, Tony Kutz and his wife Claudia and daughters Valerie and Jessica; a brother, Tom Kutz; a brother, Joe Kutz and his son Brian; a brother David Kutz and his wife Patty and children Michael and Heather; a sister, Doris Kutz-Compton and her husband Rob, and children Kristina, Nathan, Laura, Rob Jr., and Cori; a sister, Donna Rader and her husband Carl, and daughters, Michelle and Jessica; a sister, Regina Alderton and children, Shane, Alex, and Heather; a sister, Annette Kutz-Schippel and children, Zach, Nick, Kourtnee, and Dalton; sisters-in-law, Betty Gournoe, and son Tony, Jacque Wimmer, Judi Samuel, and her children, Greg and his wife Laura, and Sherry; numerous step-siblings, great-nieces and nephews, and treasured cousins. The family would like to thank the Cox Hospice staff, especially nurse Linda, for their care. Memorial graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2022 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood, Springfield, MO. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow the service. Time and Location will be announced at the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), 2525 E.
