It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Rita Sue Johnson Hahn of Petal, Mississippi, on November 22, 2022, at the age of 75 years, following a brief decline in health. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Jesse “J.C.” Hahn. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Peggy (David) Washer and Charlene Powell; her children, Cindy (Perry) Hall, Jesse “J.J.” (Shira) Hahn, and Dusty (Kelly) Walker; her grandchildren, Joseph (Hannah) Mantooth, Chandler (Hope) Mantooth, Marley Hall, Preston Hall, Savannah Hall, Dylan Bybee, Bailey Hahn, Logan Hahn, Tullos Walker, James Walker, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Viola Johnson, her brother, Gary Johnson, her sister, Rebecca Currie, and her daughter, Christy Mantooth. Rita was a loving wife and full-time mother. Always putting her family first, she was so proud of the privilege she had in raising her four extraordinary children. For many years, Rita loved bowling in competitions, and no one could out shop her. Rita enjoyed long weekends with J.C, their friends and family at The Camp in Vancleave, MS. In later years, Rita loved traveling, especially the countless cruises she and J.C. enjoyed to numerous foreign ports. A Celebration of Life will be held in her memory Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Dixie United Methodist Church, 136 Dixie Church Road, Hattiesburg, MS, 39401. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Cancer Society, or your local humane society.
