Obituary Mary Anita Reddy, best known as “Nutan” (age 63), passed away peacefully on October 10,2022 at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Anita Reddy was born February 12, 1959 in Hyderabad, Telangana (India), to the late Samuel Alexander and Lucy Jane Prabhakar. Nutan received a Bachelors Degree in Arts at Kasturi Bai College of Education for Women in Secunderabad. She took pride in being the captain of her women’s college cricket team. She is cherished deeply as the only sister to four brothers. In 1981, Nutan married Kankalli Samuel Reddy who was her partner in life for 41 years and two loving children were born. Nutan was a strong, brave, and fearless leader, mother, and wife. In 1992, she embarked on a solo journey and moved to the United States, in hope for a better future for her family. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Nutan had a passion for gardening, volunteering at the Nursery at Church of the Redeemer, playing with her nephew’s children, Sophia & Adalyn, caring for her grand-fur babies, Benji & Duke, cooking, and watching Indian/ animated movies. Nutan had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to build everlasting and impactful relationships with every single person in her life. She touched many lives with her kind and caring nature and passion for life. Whether it was advice that she shared or lending a listening ear, Nutan was the embodiment of a true friend. She retired from Montgomery County Dept. of Health and Human Services in June 2022 after her service and dedication of 22 years. She was a loving, caring, resilient person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first. Anita leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband Samuel Reddy; her son Siddarth Reddy; her daughter Nikita Ghiasi and son-in-law Reza Ghiasi; her brother’s (and family) Christopher Arunkumar, John Prem, George Kumar, and Raj Kumar, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Friday, October 14th from 9AM to 11AM at the Norbeck Memorial Park located 16225 Batchelor’s Forest Rd, Olney, MD 20832. The family requests that any flower arrangements are delivered by Thursday October 13th to allow for preparation of a beautiful display.
