Obituary We are extremely sad to announce the passing of Charles Johnson Jr. He passed away on October 8th, 2022, at 72 years old. Charlie Johnson was born on November 2nd, 1949. He married LeAnne Shorb on August 26th, 1977. Charlie was a Volunteer Fireman for Company 24 in Hillandale, MD. He was a paint and drywall contractor by trade, and a child of God by Choice. Charlie was a member of the Layhill Free Methodist Church for over 50 years. Charlie enjoyed being with his family, being a Papa, playing baseball, and bowling. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife LeAnne, of 45 years, his five sons, Charles III (Heather), Brian (Samantha), David (Dana), Mark, and Steven (Ashley). Along with his 11 ½ grandchildren, one is still cooking. He is also survived by his sister, Janice Clemons. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Peach Orchard Retreat Center or Layhill Community Church. A Celebration of Life Services will be on Saturday October 15th, 2022. The viewing will be held from 10:30am to 11:30am, followed by service at 11:30am-1pm at Layhill Community Church. 1916 Bonifant Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20906. Burial service will follow at Union Cemetery of Montgomery, 3001 Spencerville Rd, Burtonsville, MD 20866.
