Obituary Please share a memory of Denise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends. View Tribute Book Denise Ann Zehnder, 66, passed away on December 16, 2022. Denise was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend. She was a beautiful strong-willed redhead that was incredibly kind hearted. Her life’s work was always in service to children. She taught dance and preschool and then became a pediatric medical assistant. Her greatest joy, however, was for her daughters, grandchildren, and furry grandbabies. When Denise was a child, her cousins affectionately called her, “Nisey”, which she later chose as her grandmother name. Her grandchildren have known her as “Nisey” all their lives. Denise loved the beach, decorating for holidays, shopping for a good deal, crafting, and watching the Dallas Cowboys with friends. Above all, Denise loved her family fiercely as her presence was apparent in their lives. She attended every dance and choir performance, awards ceremony, and special event, but she was also there in the little moments. Denise put the needs of others before her own in acts of service, which was her love language. She will be forever missed by those whose lives she touched. A celebration of her life will be held December 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 111 W. Danieldale Rd. Duncanville, TX 75137 The family will begin receiving guests at 10:30 a.m. in the Narthex. To honor Denise and celebrate her life, the family requests that color be worn instead of black. In addition, the family will be collecting handwritten memories and warm thoughts about Denise, which will be compiled into a memory book for her husband, children, and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. It is our hope that research, education, advocacy and support of AFSP will help other families affected and will save the lives of others in crisis. supporting.afsp.org/campaign/Denise-Zehnder-Fund-For-Change Read more
