William’s Obituary William “Bill” Schroeder, 91, of Parshall and Minot, died Friday, May 7, 2021 at a Minot hospital. Funeral: Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. at United Church of Christ in Parshall with visitation 1 hour prior to the start of the service Interment: Parshall Cemetery *************************** William “Bill” Schroeder, 91, of Parshall and Minot, died Friday, May 7, 2021 at a Minot hospital. William Wayne Schroeder was born August 19, 1929, to Edward and Reba (Hardacre) Schroeder, on the family farm, south of Parshall. He attended country school and graduated from Parshall High School in 1947. He then continued his education at Minot State before returning to Parshall to farm. Bill was united in marriage to Myra Hovey, in Parshall, on June 19, 1949. They made their home on the family homestead where he and his father farmed and ranched. Bill also drove semi-truck during the winter months. Bill and Myra moved to Minot in 1992 after retiring and later moved to assisted living at The View in 2009. However, Bill continued to help his son with harvest. Myra passed away in 2012. Bill was then blessed with a second marriage to Delight Macias in 2014 who later passed in 2019. Bill loved fishing and enjoyed grouse hunting. His favorite hobby was woodworking from building furniture, crafting items like pens, and whittling. He whittled an entire town of caricatures with many resembling family and friends. Bill even convinced The View to convert a room to be used just for woodworking. He had many talents which also included playing piano. Bill had a great sense of humor and was truly a gentle man. He enjoyed visiting people and being active. He serviced on the Fertile Township board for many years and was a member of the United Church of Christ in Parshall. He had a strong faith and would watch weekly service when he was unable to attend. In 2019, Bill moved back to the family homestead to live with his son, John. With his license renewed, he took almost daily drives to view the lake and to check their land. He was able to enjoy his final harvest in 2020. Blessed be his memory among us. Bill is survived by his children, Joelyn Foote (Dalvin) of Parshall, John Schroeder (Kristy) of Parshall, and Jean Foss (Dean) of Minot; grandchildren, Leigh, Anna, and Reba Foote, and Justin and Tyler Foss; great-grandchildren, Haley, Carolyn, Wyatt, and Wyman Wolf, Jace Foote, Kason Shearer, and Jade and Jayla Alkire; and a great-great-grandson, Kian. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myra and his wife, Delight; and his brother, Donald.
