Obituary William Petix, 74, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2021, surrounded by his family at home in Wall. Born in Elizabeth and formerly of Linden, he was a resident of Garwood for 50 years before moving to Wall. Friends and relatives are invited to visit Wednesday, 12/15, from 2-4, and 7-9pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West, Cranford, N.J., 07016. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday 10 am at St. Anne’s Church, in Garwood. Bill was a member of the Franciscan Order, and the Knights of Columbus. Devoted to his Religion and faith, he was actively involved with St. Anne’s Church in Garwood, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, a trustee, and helped teach with the RCIA program, and CCD. Bill was active with the Department of Recreation in Garwood, and served as President of little league and coached soccer. He worked professionally as a very talented carpenter. He often used his passion for woodworking to carve gifts for friends and relatives. Above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Louise. Surviving are his devoted wife, Emily; his beloved children, daughter Diane, and son Billy and his wife Cyndi; his loving grandchildren, Triestina, Gabriella, and William; his brother, Robert and his wife Maryann; his sisters-in-law Maria, and Clo and her husband Mike; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
