Obituary Wayne Neil Pless 1960-2021 Wayne Pless, 61, of Waynesville, passed away peacefully at his home on November 12, 2021. A native of Haywood County, Wayne was the son of the late Thomas Lenoir Pless and Mary Louise Frady Pless. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Eugene Lenoir Pless and Maria Pless Byrd. He worked for 11 years for Harrison Construction. Wayne enjoyed camping at Lower Bell Campground at Lake Chatuge where he loved visiting with many friends out there. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and watching Davey Allison in Nascar. He was a jokester and his favorite place to go with his family was the Comedy Barn in Pigeon Forge. Above all, Wayne loved his kids and grandkids and will dearly be missed. Wayne is survived by his children, Crystal (Chris) Rathbone and Cody (Brittany) Pless; grandchildren, Madelynn, Maylee, and Brooklyn; nieces, Angela, Brittney, Cassandra, Kimberly, and Tracy; along with extended family and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Smoky Mountain Chapel, with Pastor Jimmy Moore officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Greenhill Cemetery.
