Obituary Of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Rankin, age 93, was called to be with our Lord on Saturday morning, June 19, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rankin to the late William and Mary (Hlavac) Likovich, he was also preceded in death by his brothers William, Robert, and Lawrence, and sister Wilma. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, June (Marecic) and his children Michael, Walter (wife Audrey), William (Patty), John (Karen), George (Lisa), Mary Jo (the late Martin) Cosgrove, Edward (Renean), Janet (Mark) Omelian and June Lekovitch. Walt is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. After leaving high school to enlist in the Navy during World War II, Walt returned from his military service to finish high school. He then went to work for Rankin Borough as a police officer, retiring as a Police Captain with 28 years of service. Friends are welcome on Monday, June 21, from 2-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory Inc; 1111 Monroeville Ave.; Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350 where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The F.O.P. Lodge #91 will have a Memorial Service on Monday at 7p.m. Walt will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
