Tomina D. Green was born on August 7, 1975 in Kankakee, IL to Diane Love Banks and Rickey Bryant. Tomina graduated from Kankakee High School in 1993 and attended Kankakee Community College. She worked for Cigna for 14 years. Tomina was baptized at Shiloh Full Gospel Baptist Church, at a tender age and attended Shiloh throughout her youth, young adult and adult life from time to time. She also attended Mt. Moriah. Recently, she enjoyed virtually attending and faithfully financially supporting Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor DeVontae R. Powell. Mina enjoyed serving in the following ministries: she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, as well as sang in the choir and helped with the Youth Ministry. She also served as president of the Youth Choir. She was united in marriage to Marcus Green on November 23, 2002 and one child was born to their union. Tomina was everything to everybody and could make something out of nothing. She was dependable and a loving caregiver. She enjoyed line dancing, stepping and cooking. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Diane Banks of Kankakee, IL; her children, Devail Albert Bryant, Markail Anderson Green and Jayden Tyler Jones, all of Kankakee, IL; her sister, Tolina Shannon of Kankakee, IL; her brothers, Talvi (Passion) Bedford of DeKalb, IL, Rickey (Kendra) Applewhite of Arlington Heights, IL, Naamon White Jr. and Lanier Clayton, both of Kankakee, IL, Corey Applewhite of Lombard, IL and Tevon Bryant of Jonesboro, GA; aunts, Dianna White of Chicago, IL, Patty Thompson of Lithonia, GA, Tasha Love of Kankakee, IL, Bobbie Simon and Delsiree Bryant, both of Bloomington, IL, Linda Norment, Doretha (Arthur) Gray and Felicia Bryant, all of Memphis, TN, Trina (Gregory) Dollison of Port Lucia, FL and Stacy Hess of Navarre, FL; uncles, Tyler Love of Herndon, VA, Hurburt (Jane) Bryant, Leon Bryant and Alvin (Shajuanna) Bryant, all of Memphis, TN, Cloyd (Juanita) Bryant and Davis (Cheryl) Brooks, both of Kankakee, IL; great-uncle, Mose (Mary) Tucker of Flint, MI; great-aunt, Annie Scott of Aurora, IL; special nieces, Shylynn Davis and Shamyia Shannon, both of Humble, TX and Brooklyn White of Kankakee, IL; special cousins, Pamela Powell, Alynthia Love, China Thompson, Latonya Simon and Mike Love; close friends, Ayana Smith, Tosonya Dabney, Dorthanna Nance and Rickesnia Glenn, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Rickey Bryant; her grandparents, Albert and Lizzie Love and Clara Brooks and special friend, Joyce Ann Nance.
