Steven Mercado, 43, who had been residing in Tivoli, NY passed peacefully on December 15, 2021 at his sister’s home in Hopewell Junction surrounded by his family. Born on October 18th, 1978 in Manhattan, Steven was the son of Mario and Carmen Mercado. Steven grew up in the Bronx until 1989 when the Mercado family moved to the Hudson Valley. It was here where he took to the guitar at a young age, driving a life-long passion for music that led him to becoming a member of Robbers on High Street, where as the lead guitarist he had the opportunity to tour the world sharing his musical gifts. Steven’s continued dedication to the arts led to his music appearing in film, television, and radio. While not behind a guitar, Steven could be found behind the bar as a renowned bartender. As with music, he spent many years honing his craft and could be found serving drinks throughout New York City, including The Shanty in Brooklyn where in addition to tending bar he assisted in distilling Gin. Most recently, Steven would be found in Hudson, NY entertaining guests behind the bar at The Maker Hotel. He also enjoyed many other hobbies such as rock climbing, fishing, backpacking, and the outdoors. There was never a time he’d pass up the opportunity sit around a fire with his guitar. Steven is survived by Elaine Barlow and his daughter, Chloe of Pleasant Valley; his parents, Carmen and Mario Mercado; his siblings, Michelle Dhaliwal and her husband Sonny of Hopewell Junction, Anthony Mercado of Poughkeepsie, Gabriel Mercado and Liz of LaGrange, Jeremy Mercado and his wife Renea of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of his life on January 10th from 5:00-8:00 pm at The Maker Hotel lounge located at 302 Warren St, Hudson, NY 12534 Read Less Afficher cette page en : Français Traduire Désactiver pour : Anglais Options ▼
