Funeral services for Steve will be on Saturday, May 1,2021 at 2:00 P.M. at McCoy Chapel of Memories with burial at the Roscoe cemetery. Pastor Francisco Ortega will be officiating service. There will be Rosary on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 7:00 P.M.. Juanita DeLeon will be reading Rosary. Steve was born on March 1, 1974 in Sweetwater, Texas to parents Evaristo and Virginia Hernandez. He married his wife Candy on October 8, 2016 in Sweetwater. Steve attended schools in Roscoe until he graduated from Hobbs Alternative School. He worked in dirt construction for many years with Charles Burnett Dirt Construction, Chapman Construction until he found his work family at J.A.L. Contractors in Big Spring, Texas, where he worked for almost 10 years until his diagnoses in February 2021. Steve had a love for life, family, BBQing and just living life to the fullest everyday. He was also a movie fanatic. He always had a smile on his face, making everyone laugh. Steve leaves behind his beloved #1(wife) Candy Hernandez, son: Adam Valdez and Jonathon of Lubbock, a daughter:Crystal McCasland and Justin of Oklahoma, daughter: Angel Valdez and Armando of Sweetwater, 2 grandsons Nathan Kelly, Jared McCasland of Oklahoma, his pride and joy granddaughter Soriaya Valdez of Sweetwater, Francisco Ortega and Anita of Sweetwater, Leonor Ortega and Berlinda of Sweetwater, Amy Olguin and Juan of Sweetwater, sisters Virginia Monreal of Abilene, TX, Guadalupe Hernandez of Sweetwater, Alicia Vrubel of Sweetwater, Jamie Munoz and Lewis of Sweetwater, brothers: Jesse Hernandez and Deborah of Sweetwater, Andrew Hernandez and Sonia of Colorado City, A host of nieces, nephews, A very special nephew Christopher Ramirez and Marina Sweetwater. Steve is proceeded in death by his father and mother Evaristo Hernandez and mother Virginia of Roscoe, Sister: Lydia Guerrero of Sweetwater of Sweetwater, Brothers: Robert and Evaristo Jr. Hernandez of Sweetwater, Teddy Vrubel of Sweetwater, Grandmother: Pascula Hernandez of Sweetwater. Pallbearers will be Jesse Hernandez, Andrew Hernandez, Chris Ramirez, Kyle Hernandez, Adam Valdez, Jonathon Castillo.
