Stephen Phillip Troxel January 16, 1943 – November 21, 2021 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Stephen Phillip Troxel, 78, of San Antonio, TX, peacefully passed away on November 21, 2021 surrounded by a multitude of loved ones after a decade long battle with Parkinson’s. Steve was born on January 16, 1943 to Robert and Isabel Troxel in Ashland, OH. After Steve graduated from Savannah High school in 1961, he pursued his call from God to serve as a minister. He received Biblical training from Piedmont Bible College, Detroit Bible College, and Ashland Theological Seminary where he ultimately completed his master’s degree. In 1958, Steve met the love of his life-Connie Kay Hyde. They served in Youth For Christ during high school and wed shortly after graduation in 1962. At the age of 21, God launched Steve’s ministry as a Senior Pastor at Andersonville Community Church. In 1972, God further called Steve and Connie to San Antonio, TX, where Steve served as the Senior Pastor at Wayside Chapel E. Free Church. After 34 years of fruitful and joyous ministry at Wayside Chapel and 3 books authored, Steve resigned to launch Shepherd’s Support Ministry to love and equip pastors and their wives in 27 different countries. Steve was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Isabel Troxel, and his older brother, Jim Troxel. He is survived by his wife, Connie, his two daughters, Shelli and Kelli, and his siblings, Rita and Jed. He is also blessed to be survived by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Wayside Chapel on November 27, 2021 at 10 AM.
