Obituary Stella Egan Of Arlington Heights Stella Egan was born on January 10,1924 in Chicago as the sixth child to Paul and Katherine (nee Gorczyca) Milas. She passed away on December 3, 2021 just a month short of her 98th birthday. Stella had many interests. She loved to cook, garden, sew and tackle do it yourself projects around the house. These included such tasks as tiling, carpentry, remodeling, etc. She could do anything she set her mind to do. For relaxation, she enjoyed and was an avid bowler. The pins would explode whenever she threw the bowling ball. She was most proud of a high game of 279 and received a special trophy for this accomplishment. What she loved the most was to dance with her husband, Raymond, our father. They would move so smilingly, perfectly across the dance floor. It was a joy to watch them. Lastly, Stella had been an active member and volunteer at the St. Joseph’s Chapter in River Grove, Il. where she and her late sister, Mary, would create special spaghetti dinners for its members. She had also been an active member in the River Grove Senior’s Club where she enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and playing cards. Stella is survived by her children Barbara (Thomas) Wollard, Carole (late John) Costa and Raymond Egan; her grandchildren Christian, Stephanie, Kelly and John; her great grandchildren Natalie, Justin, Jason, Madelyn, James, Kaylie, Jackson, Nicholas, Michael and Mark and by her sister, Loretta (late Bob) Bozek. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Egan; her son Michael Egan; her siblings Mary Schumacher, Katharine Jajko, John Milas, Paul Milas, Jennie Ryan, Dorothy Strauss, Walter Strauss, William Strauss and Anthony Strauss. Visitation Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a celebration of life service to begin at 5:30 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL. Interment private.
