Shirley’s Obituary Shirley Ann (Naber) Morey formerly of Fort Collins, Co, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Puyallup, WA. Shirley was born to Fritz and Ana Naber on November 6, 1936. She spent her early years working with her mother and father on their farm near Butte, NE. She enrolled in a secretarial school in Atkinson, NE and stayed in a boarding house during the week at the age of 15. She married at the age of 19 to Dale Wilson and they had three sons. After moving numerous times, she settled in Fort Collins in 1963. Shirley spent the next 35 years working in the insurance industry and ended her career as the Vice President of Marketing for Colorado Casualty in Denver. In 1992 she married James Morey and they were together until his passing in 2014. After retirement, Shirley and Jim moved to their dream home located on the golf course in Tonto Verde, AZ. In 2005, they returned to Colorado and resided in the Windsor area. She enjoyed cooking, golf, and walking in the sun. After retirement, and with a glass of fine wine in her hand, she pursued a new passion of researching her ancestry by walking through cemeteries. While her sons questioned her approach, it appeared to bring her great joy. In 2017, she moved to Buckley, WA, to be closer to her 1st great grandchild. She is survived by her three sons and their families: Tim and Pam Wilson, Fort Collins, CO (Jeremy, Molly, Tanner); Todd and Cherie Wilson, Maquoketa, IA (Tyler and wife Krista, Tucker) and Trent and Donna Wilson, Enumclaw, WA (Lindsey and husband Travis Decker, Nicole) and great grandchildren McKenna and Madison Decker. She is also survived by Jim’s children (Jill, Jeff, John, Jana) and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Morey, father, mother and infant sister.
