Sherrie I. Kettery, 73 of Alexandria died Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 in Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Anderson after an extended illness. Sherrie was born in Alexandria on Feb. 27, 1948 and was the daughter of Kenneth and Rosa Mary (Humphries) Kettery, Sr. She had been employed as a cook in several area restaurants including Ed’s Tavern, Kettery’s Restaurant, Don’s Pizza and most recently as a bartender at the Eagles Lodge. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Teresa L. (Terry Williams) Kettery, her brothers; Fred Kettery, Kenneth Kettery, Jr., Tony Kettery and Tim (Karen) Kettery; her sisters; Nancy (Marvin) Ashby, Mary Barnett, Janice (Dennis) Cox and Brenda Dent. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles, sister, Doris Jean Malicoat and brothers in law, Sam Malicoat and Wayne Barnett. Services for Sherrie will be on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel with Rev. Pat Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery, Yorktown.
