Obituary of Sarah Ellen Smalley-Goodwin Sarah Smalley-Goodwin, age 80 passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 14, 2021. She leaves behind her children; Mark D. Goodwin and Karen M. Goodwin (Patrick B. McConnaughy). She was the loving grandmother of Sam and Ben Goodwin and Connor J. McConnaughy. She also leaves behind her step-granddaughter, Kelly (Micah) McConnaughy; step-great grandchildren, Hailey and Josh McConnaughy; her dear sister, Sue (Jerry) Partack; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and Goodwin family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Dorotha Smalley; her daughter, Kathryn Goodwin-Large; her brothers, Harold and Glenn Smalley; her niece, Debbie Partack; and her former spouse, Dr. E.E. Goodwin. Sarah was born in her parents home in new Vienna, Ohio. However, she spent most of her life in Perry, Ohio. The last 8 years were spent living with her daughter in Deerfield, Ohio. Sarah thoroughly enjoyed caring for multiple children in her home over the years. Sarah eventually retired, after working as a phlebotomist for University Hospitals MedNet. Sarah had a great capacity for loving and caring for all. She would always make it a priority to make sure that you always knew how special you were to her. She will be greatly missed. Sarah was an organ donor. Visitation will be Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10:00AM until noon with the funeral service following at noon at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077. Burial will follow in Perry Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home or to Lifebanc.
