Obituary Robert L. Dykema (Big Bob) departed this earth on Easter Sunday after a brave and unrelenting fight with cancer and Covid. Bob was 69. Mourning his loss are his wife, Cynthia; sons, Shawn, Robert, Matt (Kate), Mike, and Matt Proch; grandkids, Isabella, Shane, Bronson, Jaycob, and Avaleigh. He leaves behind his sister, Ruthann (David) Bigelow; their children, Jamie Lampe family, Lindsay (Steve) Patlewicz, Kim (Kevin) Early. His by-his-side cousin and best comrade, Perry (Luann) Calandrino family, Joe (Yosi) Calandrino family. Cyndy’s sisters, Merry (Bob) Murray, Kerry (Mike) Kreps, brother, Lee (Norma) Gilbert and their families. Bob was pre-deceased by his Mother and Father, Ruth and Bob, Sr. Dykema; uncles and aunts, Joe and Edith Calandrino, Ed and Betty Shy, and Melvin (Dottie) Shy. Bob was an outstanding salesman in the golf industry for over 47 years, most recently retiring in April, 2020, from Callaway Golf. He was a legend in the industry. Bob had a gallery of PGA fans and friends. He was devoted to his customers and truly enjoyed nurturing those relationships into long time loyal friendships. He was the all-time best story teller, and had a true passion for his work and the people he met. He will be lovingly remembered for his love for family and friends, his adoration for his grandkids, his impeccable work ethic & a man of integrity. His positive motivation and grateful heart are an inspiration to all who knew him. Heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Holland for their compassionate care. Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service will be held on Tuesday, April 13th, at 11:00am. Pastor Christopher Westerbeek will lead the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mel Trotter Ministries, 225 Commerce Ave. SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
